The southern col between Mount Everest and Lhotse, the first and fourth highest mountains on Earth. Climbers attempting to climb Everest from the southeast ridge in Nepal, make their final camp (usually camp IV) on the South Col. South Col is typically thrashed by devilishly high winds, leaving it free of significant snow accumulation. Don't let your shelter blow away there in the middle of the night - you mightn't come back, ever.
